The Catholic Health Amphitheater at Bald Hill is one of New York State’s most famous outdoor venues. Situated in Long Island, near Farmingville, this legendary amphitheater has seen many of the world’s greatest musical performers on its stage.
From Yes to James Brown, Blondie to Diana Ross, the Amphitheater at Bald Hill has also hosted such great artists as B.B. King, Twisted Sister, Toby Keith, Frankie Valli and Alice Cooper. You can join the world’s best known performers here on Long Island, where a friendly and intimate stage nestles in an awesome outdoor environment.
The Catholic Health Amphitheater was constructed in the old Bald Hill Ski Bowl, which provides a naturally sloped setting. With the stage area below you, this means you get excellent views and sound that fills the whole bowl. If you choose one of the floor level seats, you’ll be in a flat area close to the stage. The cheaper, general admission lawn seats are on the grassy slope that fans out behind the seats. This area of the amphitheater offers great sight lines, and the stage view is supplemented by large video screens on either side.
Due to its delightful situation, surrounded by lawns and woodland, the Catholic Health Amphitheater at Bald Bill is a popular place to camp. When you fancy a break that includes a show by your favorite performers, you can rock up to this venue with your RV and settle in for the duration. Tailgaters are also welcomed prior to the concerts, provided you respect your neighbors and follow the venue rules. If you just fancy a trip out to the Long Island countryside, you can also get to the Catholic Health Amphitheater by train or bus from New York City.
This amphitheater is ideal for the big multi-art festivals that take place here. Such events include Vets Rock, Freedom Fest and Beatstock, drawing popular contemporary artists like Dierks Bentley, Eric Church and Big Time Rush. The amphitheater continues to welcome a host of popular artists in 2023, including Chicago, Cody Johnson, Darius Rucker and The Wallflowers. One of this year’s highlights is the Funtastic 2023 benefit, featuring Pat Benatar with Neil Giraldo and Taylor Dayne. You’ll also be fizzing to festival events like the Fiesta Latina, Freestyle Feast, The ‘80s Rock Tour and Jammins Reggae Fest.
